Hi, I'm Katie!
I went to undergraduate school in Dallas, TX. I have a Master of Social work from Baylor University and hold my licensed social worker license in Denver, CO. I love living in Denver. I have been here for almost 3 years. My husband and I love hiking, traveling, and trying new restaurants. I enjoy long walks with my golden retriever, Zoey. I love reading and cooking in my spare time and spending time with friends and family as often as I can!
I did not anticipate becoming a counselor until graduating graduate school. I went to undergrad anticipating going to law school but God had different plans! Baylor School of Social Work was such a fun experience and I fell in love with learning more about mental health. I was able to gain experience doing school social work and working with high school students. I also did medical social work in an speciality outpatient hospital setting working with chronic illness such as diabetes, cystic fibrosis, etc.
The last two and a half years was when I fell in love with counseling. I worked in community mental health with adults. I love getting to hold space for others and hear their stories. It truly is the honor of my life and I couldn't imagine a better role for me.
